Meadowlands Environmental Research Institue - Brand Identity System
The Meadowlands Environmental
Research Institute (MERI) is a center of environmental history, research, and innovation.
MERI collects, analyzes, creates, and published real time data from the Hackensack Meadowlands Estuary in order to promote, restore, and preserve the region, provide actionable information to scientists and the public, encourage climate awareness, and empower community advocacy.
The Meadowland Environmental Research Institute's Logo represents the topography of the Hackensack Meadowland Estuary.
It presents an organic treatment within a geometric (window-like) framework — offering a view into MERI's innovative research on the Estuary's ever-changing landscape. It encompasses the multifaceted environment of the region through a visual abstraction of the layers of sediment, water levels and sky.
The visual composition also suggests a contemplation for environmental change/transformation, data & wave-like flow/movement.
